The three women of Chickweed met at a magical place called Wintergrass, in the winter of 2006.  It occurred to them, almost immediately, that their passion for traditional bluegrass music could go farther and last longer than the fleeting moment of an incidental jam.  Drawing on each member’s strengths, Chickweed now blends choice traditional tunes with new “old” originals.  Bringing the late night camp fire jam feeling to every audience they now play for has been the goal of this exciting and raucous trio of musicians.  The humorous and entertaining nature of their personalities is contagious.  Always friendly and quick with a smile, the ladies of Chickweed are raring to go!

Abby Downs: plays her signature red guitar and provides a strong lead vocal that puts the blues in bluegrass.

Finn Fox: gets the crowds going with her lightning fast mandolin playing, and gives Chickweed its signature sound.
